Pamela is also the founder of Lothian Childcare Solutions, a Childcare Agency that recruits and provides childcare workers to families including babysitters, nannies and mother’s helps.
After establishing trusting relationships with families through the agency, Family Payroll seemed like a natural next step to be able to support families on their journey of becoming and being an employer.
Family Payroll ensure that our services are available to all families and can be used for any role that a family employs someone in.
We love to get to know individual families and will listen hard to understand the role in which your employee works.
We will dedicate time to listen to your needs, explain how we can help and ensure that payroll can be affordable and easy.
This makes our service very personable, allowing us to get to know you as a person so that we can support you easily and effectively every time you contact us.
These are the two loves of my life – my son Matthew and our adorable dog Barney. Both bring me so much joy every day. As a full-time working Mum with two businesses and limited time, I value our free time together so much; something I will never take for granted.
I have worked in childcare most of my adult life, in nurseries, in a Children and Families Centre and until 2017 as an inspector with The Care Inspectorate, the regulatory body for Care Services in Scotland.
As well has having a very good knowledge of the regulations around providing care and employing someone in a care role, through my other business, Lothian Childcare Solutions, I have also come to understand the issues families face when employing someone in their home and the need to support them with a personal payroll service.
My priority in life and business is to always care and find a way to help.
Since returning to work after my second son in 2005, I have worked in accounting and HR administration. There is nothing I enjoy more at work than balancing a bank reconciliation and getting stuck into an Excel spreadsheet!
However in 2020 I decided I wanted to learn more: I am now thoroughly enjoying being a mature student, working my way to earning a qualification in Accounting.
I consider myself to be an extremely caring and empathetic person, who understands the struggles of family life. As a mum of two growing sons, I have first-hand experience of being able to strike a good work-life balance, ensuring that both my children and my career are nurtured.
I am a passionate advocate for women’s rights and equality and truly believe that a woman can be an excellent mum and have a successful career.
I feel privileged to be able to support families in achieving that work-life balance, and if our contribution at Family Payroll helps towards that, then I can switch off my computer at the end of the week happy.
